Arriving in Utrecht
After arrival at Schiphol Amsterdam Airport, it is easiest to take a train to Utrecht Central Station. The train station is part of Schiphol Plaza, just follow directions for ‘trains’. Train tickets are available from the yellow ticket machines near the platforms at Schiphol Plaza or from the ticket offices. There is a direct train to Utrecht that runs every 30 minutes, the journey takes about half an hour. Buy a one way ticket (“enkele reis”) to Utrecht Central Station (about €8.10). When in doubt, you can always ask someone at the ticket office. You will soon notice that almost everyone in the Netherlands speaks English well. After you have arrived at Utrecht Central Station, it is just a few minutes to the Utrecht Summer School office. It is located in the centre of Utrecht and is easily accessible by bus from Utrecht Central Station, or on foot (10 minutes). The Utrecht Summer School office at Janskerkhof 30A is a little white building, located next to the entrance of the church "Janskerk" in the centre of the square. You can buy a ticket on the bus at the bus driver or make use of the buy OV Chip Card. The following buses stop at the bus stop "Janskerkhof":
- line 3 - direction 'Burg. Fockema Andreaelaan'
- line 4 - direction 'Burg. Fockema Andreaelaan'
- line 8 - direction 'Overvecht Zuid'
- line 11 - direction 'Uithof/AZU'
From the bus stop it is only 1 minute by foot to our office.
